About the Sundarban, Bangladesh
The Sundarban is the largest mangrove forest on Earth, spread across the delta of the Ganges, Brahmaputra and Meghna rivers. Most of it lies in Bangladesh, and the rest is in India's West Bengal. The name is often linked to the sundari tree that grows here.
It is home to the Royal Bengal Tiger, spotted deer, crocodiles, dolphins and hundreds of bird species. The Bangladesh part was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1997.
